and businesses may provide a link to their web site. However, links to reseller
sites, are not acceptable. Any ad containing a link to sites containing
porn or is any way in bad taste and not for general viewing will be deleted.
II. SCAMS and FRAUD. I started the North Georgia Trader so people in the the local area would have a nice place to buy and sell items. That is still, and will always be the intent of this site. However, anything on this site is viewable by anyone in the Whole Wide World. The Internet has brought a lot of great things to many, but it has also given thieves, scam artiest, and other criminals another means to victimize the trusting. Buyer beware and Seller beware! You wouldn't believe that someone will fall for this but many do.
a. Email and Wire Fraud. These deals sound really to good not to try. If you get an email from someone offering you more than your asking price you are on your way to trouble. Most of these scams come from over seas, out of country where you have little of no recoruse. I have received them and heard about people getting such email without having placed a classified ad. Someone offers to send you a large check or wire transfer and ask you to keep part of it, sometimes hundreds or more, and send them back the rest. The money may initionally clear your bank and you have cash in hand and wire or send ligitimate money back to the person. But in a few weeks once the counterfiet check or fruadlant wire transfer fails to clear through forigen banks your bank will depet your account and your will be responsible. Here I really need to emphasis that you will be responsible. You not I, not this website, no one else but you will be held accountable. I reallize the real culpert is the person who just ripped you off. Good luck contacting them, that email address you have is now about as good as the check you received. Local officials will go after you not them.
III. Please do not abuse this site: You are
expected to place your ad only once and in only one category. If you run your ad for 14 days or longer you will receive an email notifing you that the ad will soon expire. The email will also have a link which you can click to instantally renew your ad and bump it back to the top. Do not manually cancel an ad and then repost it as this unfairly bumps it back to the top.
This site is intented for individual to buy sell and trade their own items. Business may run only one ad at a time. This also pertains to indivuals selling dogs or vehicles for profit.
Please keep your ads brief. Only 35 characters will display in
the heading; any more than this is cut off. A charater limit is set in the ad text area. Information you put in other fields does not affect this count. You can always list a web site if it pertains to the item you are selling
or offer additional information by email.
Do not use the ENTER (Return) key to create a tall list of items.
Instead list items or features in a continuous running sentence separating
them with a comma (,).
Free Real Estate and automotive ads are only accepted for owners selling properties
themselves. If your agent is not advertising in the North Georgia Trader,
have them contact me by email to place a paid ad.
IV. Business Advertising. I have provided
a category in which businesses can advertise their businesses. This not only
benefits the local businesses, but all individuals in the North Georgia area.
Businesses are to advertise only their business and not individual items, (i.e.,
properties, vehicles, etc.).
Local/area Businesses
only! For the purpose of this web site, local businesses are
defined as those having a physical presence in this area. Businesses
listing here must be able to provide a physical address and telephone number.
No ad will be accepted linking a web site that does not contain this information.
Resellers or work-at-home programs ads will not be accepted.
If you want to advertise an employment opportunity you must have a local number and physical
address where the person can come to and apply.
Do not post other ads to direct traffic to another web site. I realize
that business owners are also individuals. You may place non-business ads,
or even ads that may mention something you are looking for to use in your
business as an individual, but do not use this as a means to direct
traffic to your web site. Example of acceptable and not acceptable ads are:
Acceptable: Looking for following items: service van in good
conditions; 40 foot extension ladder; call 706-555-4545
Unacceptable: I need someone to cut my grass. I will pay you
by taking $20 off a Heating or A/C service call. Call me 404-555-4545 or

Do not list a link that has nothing to do with your ad. Do not link a forum or another site where you have your item advertised.
